Memorable Moments in Youth Ministry

Best Question from a Teen (Spring 2015):
Do nuns have to wear bras, or does God support them that way, too?
Something is Going Right...
...when your teens stop in the middle of the World of Coca-Cola, join hands, and pray for a person who's going in to surgery
There's Always the One Male Teen...
...the one who drives you crazy, but deep down you know (and tell him) that he very well might become a priest one day.
Hands Down, Best Large Group Icebreaker Game:
Super Duper Musical Chairs:  2 circles of chairs, tons of running around to whatever music the DJ plays, 1 supreme winner.  Though always good, I particularly like that it kicks off our winter retreat every year - we get vicious!
Remember that One Teen...
...who thought I lived at the church as some sort of nun and was blown away when finding out that I live in an apartment and could date if I wanted to?
Favorite Social Life Night To Date (Fall 2014):
Holy Spirit Fruit Night: pass the vasoline-covered watermelons, squeeze the oranges to make juice, build grape-and-toothpick castles, and throw apples at the castles to destroy them!
The First Time I Lost It (Spring 2013):
The first (and only, hopefully!) time I had to ask someone to leave Confirmation class.  Live and learn, right?  That first year had some rough spots!
When the Impossible Happens...
...and after tons of prayer and discernment and encouragement and prompting and asking and emailing, the teen who always gets distracted and distracts everyone else decides to turn around, get into his faith, and becomes a leader, proving that the struggle is real - but it is SO WORTH IT!
